Hello Triathletes of the world!

Here's the mail for the singapore 70.3

Welcome to the fifth anniversary of Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore.

With race day less than one month away the excitement is mounting. The stars are preparing to head to Singapore, and so is a record field of near 900 international visitors, who, together with all the local Singapore and expat entries from around Singapore and Asia, make up a field representing 69 countries! With 32 pro racers this year you will definitely be able to play spot the super-star!!

And we celebrate the fifth anniversary with news that our field for March 20th is a total sell out.

This is indeed a banner year for the hard working Hi-Tri team behind the event; a great reward for those competitors who keep coming back to visit with us in Singapore, and also, especially for our supporters, such as Aviva, who have been with us every step of the development journey.

Thank you to each and every one of you!

As 20th March draws nearer we wish you safe training and a happy taper as you get ready to race.

Meanwhile, we have also been working hard to bring new and exciting changes to the Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore. This year instead of having the "Aviva Athlete Village" at Playground @ Big Splash, Singapore's biggest international triathlon will be held at Car Park F2 of the East Coast Parkway, which will be transformed into an athlete village, bustling with activities for you and your supporters.

With a completely new and improved race route, from our traditional two-lane, two-lap swim, through a super fast new bike course to a shady run, this year looks the best yet.

We've also increased the technical presence within the race (so no drafting!) and there are some surprises in store at the Carbo Loading night function also.

And wait, there's more. Don't forget to pick up your race kit at the Race Pack Collection, which will be held on the 18th and 19th March at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre in the Singapore CBD! Our sponsors Shimano, Athlete's Circle/Polar Electro, Rudy Project (RPA Pte Ltd), Thanyapura Ltd, and Key Power International Pte Ltd (Newton) will all be at the Race Pack Collection so don't miss out on the great deals, bargains and promotions they have to offer!

Also, do take note that some administrative changes have been made at our end. This event is run to World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) Ironman rules, and all ages are taken as at 31 December 2011. Changes to those age and age groups will be made accordingly as a number of people miss-entered their age group data. Please do not be alarmed if you find yourself in a different age group at registration as we correct all registration data. More information can be found in the website and entry information.

Lastly, and importantly, the Competitors' Info Booklet is ready for download from the website at www.ironman703singapore.com on our website. Please download the guide and go through all the essential aspects of the race. Note that this information does not replace the actual event briefing which is to be held on Friday, 18th March, with a repeat briefing for late participants on Saturday.

Meanwhile, safe training and fast racing and may your race on March 20th be the very best it can be!

The Hi-Tri Team
Singapore
